Adaptive Cruise Control is a feature you find in most new Dodge vehicles. With adaptive cruise control, you not only set a predetermined speed but also a safe following distance as well. Your vehicle will automatically slow down or stop for you if another vehicle or an object gets within that distance.
Lane Keeping Assist is another safety feature that can be found in vehicles such as the 2019 RAM 1500. This feature uses sensors to determine lane markings on the road. Then, if you start to drift outside of your lane without signaling, it alerts you with audio or visual cues. In some vehicles, it will actually gently nudge you back into your lane.
There are also multiple collision prevention features such as Forward Collision Warning. It will alert you if a vehicle or object gets into your path which could cause a potential collision. Some vehicles, such as the Jeep Grand Cherokee, also uses Active Braking, which will automatically engage the brakes if you don’t respond in a timely fashion.
